We are excited to be here in Newcastle exhibiting at this year’s BCIG 2024 Annual Meeting.  Join us on on exhibition stand to learn more about AB’s expanded Marvel CI portfolio, including remote programming and linked two-ear solutions.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Sonova and Advanced Bionics, we are committed to creating sustainable value for all our stakeholders: we continuously innovate to provide the best solutions for our customers. We enable access to hearing care for millions of people with hearing loss, invest in the development of our employees and partners, and apply eco-efficient practices across all our business activities.

Following on from the success of our cardboard exhibition stand at BCIG 2023 (that was reused at the BAA Annual Meeting and fully recycled after); we are continuing to focus our efforts on becoming more environmentally friendly and reducing our environmental impact, at conferences. You'll see, we're doing this in a number of ways at this year's BCIG 2024 Annual Meeting including:

- Sustainable event stand solutions  - this year, our stand is primarily focused on using materials that can be repurposed and reused so there’s no waste. We have opted for:

  • Modular wall panels, allowing us to reconfigure new stand layouts time and time again
  • A build using existing wall panels, that have been used on over 40 previous stands and many more future events!
  • Graphics that have been printed on recycled material, that can be used again, or fully recycled for new graphics
  • Vinyl and carpet flooring that can be stored and re-used

- Supporting small, local businesses - as BCIG 2024 is hosted in Newcastle, we have chosen to use a local event stand company, not only reducing our carbon footprint, but working with a supplier that has their own practices to support the reduction of environmental impact. We have also purchased artisan chocolates from a local well-established and iconic chocolaterie, La Chocolatrice. La Chocolatrice aim to use locally sourced ingredients so their chocolates are not only ethically sourced but sustainable too.

- Eco-friendly giveaways - we've sourced reusable water bottles and bamboo phone holders which are suitable for holding mobile phones or even an iPad during a remote programming appointment.

It provides effortless comfort and convenience with its ergonomically designed housing and accessories, and ultimate ease of use for staying connected throughout the day.

Remote Programming

Making hearing care more accessible for CI patients.

Patients can discuss their progress, get their questions answered in real-time, and even receive full CI programming without a visit to the clinic.

Note: Remote Programming is recommended for recipients 13 years and older.

AIM

Surgeons have no objective means of monitoring the function of the cochlea during electrode insertion. The AIM™ system can help. It uses the implant to measure electrocochleography (or ECochG)  potentials generated by the inner ear and the auditory nerve in response to acoustic stimuli. This continuous and real-time measurement during electrode insertion can provide invaluable feedback to the surgeon.

HiRes Ultra 3D cochlear implant

The first-of-its-kind HiRes™ Ultra 3D Cochlear Implant’s innovative multi-magnet assembly provides alignment to a 3D MRI field, allowing adult and paediatric users to safely undergo high-resolution imaging, such as 3.0 Tesla MRIs, without any preparation, surgery or head bandaging.

Linked Two-Ear Solutions

Personalise a linked two-ear solution for the most natural way to hear with cochlear implants.

Linked two-ear solutions by Marvel are unlike any other on the market. That’s because AB and our sister company Phonak work together to create hearing devices that are designed to communicate and work together as a pair. They are built on the same technology, enabling them to share sound processing and wireless connectivity features like no other.

Only AB offers a linked two-ear solution for every CI wearer. Depending on your patients hearing loss and needs, we have the ideal solution for them.

TWO MARVEL COCHLEAR IMPLANTS

Two Marvel CIs offer the best stereo hearing for children or adults with severe to profound hearing loss in both ears. Hearing with two cochlear implants can help patients know where sounds are coming from, understand speech better in noisy places, and make hearing less tiring.

MARVEL CI + PHONAK LINK M HEARING AID

If your patient needs a CI in one ear and a hearing aid in the other, there’s no better choice than an AB and Phonak combination. They can enjoy a better sound quality, stream phone calls and music to both ears, and even control both devices with a single button.

MARVEL CI + CROS

If your patient hears with a cochlear implant in one ear but they do not have any hearing in their other ear, they are only hearing half of the world. The CROS collects the sounds from one side and sends it to the Marvel CI on the other ear. This way, they can hear voices and sounds on both sides, and follow conversations without having to turn their head, even when it gets noisy.

Note: Advanced Bionics cochlear implants are indicated with severe to profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss (≥ 70 dB HL) and for paediatrics with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss (≥ 90 dB HL).
